Tranç is a dance work directed by Cesc Gelabert and filmmaker Isaki Lacuesta. Gelabert himself is in charge of the stage performance, together with dancers Roser López Espinosa and Lorena Nogal. A group of young dance students are to take part in this production and complete the cast.
Tranç aims to show dance as a continual gesture transmitted by the maestros of the past and inherited by today’s choreographers, who embody it and transform it to obtain a new variation every time. A play of ever-distorting mirrors.
Tranç combines echoes from the past and splits from the present onstage; live dancers with images projected onto transparent acrylic glass sheets Phantasmagorias that will serve as a preamble to the bodies of the dancers who will give a live performance of this game of translations and betrayals, of gestures transmitted from creator to creator.
